Greg the One Man Band

After a gap of more than thirty years, I spent 2012 back on the road.

The first gig of the reformed band was at the Pleasure Boat Inn, Hickling, on 30 March 2012. I was re-booked to appear again within the month, and following a recommendation spent much of that year hosting a fortnightly "Acoustic Night" at another local pub, the Kings Arms, Martham.

It seemed people didn't think I was that rusty, even if I was playing much the same material that I used to way back in the 1970s.

Then I'd load my instruments into my MG Midget and tour the pubs and folk clubs around my home in West Norfolk. Sometimes I'd travel into Lincolnshire or Cambridgeshire. Wasn't I a Bold fellow!

Since then I have moved further east. After a another four year break from playing in a one man band, another house move and finding a new wife, I am ready to seek gigs again.

While I now I live on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, I still have friends and relations spread across the country and stay with them from time to time, so you never know I might turn up, offering to play, at your local Folk Club, Open Mic session, or the like.

As you might guess from the Repertoire page, when asked, I say my inspirations include Woody Guthrie. Jesse Fuller, Leadbelly, Brownie McGhee, Sonny Terry, Lonnie Donegan, Spike Milligan (You think I'm kidding?) and many others.
